Bellefaire JCB Is In Your Community
Cuyahoga County is home to Bellefaire JCB’s main campus and administrative offices. Located on a 32-acre campus setting, the site is home to our residential treatment programs, including the Intensive Treatment Units, Stabilization Critical Care Unit, Monarch Boarding Academy, and the Monarch School for Autism.
In addition to campus-based programming, Bellefaire JCB provides a wide range of community-based services throughout Cuyahoga County, including behavioral health services, supports for unhoused youth, early childhood education programs, and services for the Jewish community.
Our programs are designed to meet the diverse needs of children, adolescents, adults, and families through compassionate, evidence-based care and community support.
Services in Cuyahoga County
The Monarch Center for Autism at Bellefaire JCB provides comprehensive autism education, treatment, and support guided by the Monarch Model, an evidence-informed approach developed in partnership with Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital. The Model brings together individualized programming, visual language immersion, structured and supportive environments, interdisciplinary collaboration, active family engagement, visual and regulation supports, technology, and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to help individuals with autism strengthen communication, learning, social-emotional skills, self-regulation, and independence.
Monarch Day School provides individualized educational services for students from the community, as well as for students receiving residential services through Monarch Residential Autism Services. For students living on campus, these educational services are provided through Monarch Residential Education, which follows the same individualized approach, specialized expertise, and Monarch Model that guide the Day School. This close connection creates consistency across educational and residential settings and gives students opportunities to build and apply skills throughout their day.

Bellefaire's school-based counseling team is committed to delivering exceptional mental health services that support the entire school community. Our program combines evidence-based counseling with customized prevention strategies to meet the diverse emotional and behavioral needs of students.
At the heart of this program are our clinically trained, licensed professionals, who specialize in working with children and adolescents. These dedicated counselors provide a comprehensive range of high-quality services, including:
- Individual Psychotherapy
- Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS)
- Prevention and Early Intervention
- Consultation with School Staff and Caregivers
By embedding counselors directly in the school setting, school-based counseling eliminates common barriers to care such as transportation challenges, scheduling conflicts, financial constraints, and loss of instructional time. This model ensures greater accessibility to essential mental health services for students who may otherwise go without support.
Students benefit from:
- Personalized, trauma-informed care
- In-the-moment intervention for emotional or behavioral disruptions during the school day
- Increased advocacy and coordination among school staff, caregivers, and external providers
- Improved social-emotional readiness, helping students thrive both academically and personally
School-based counseling fosters a collaborative, strengths-based school culture that promotes resilience, emotional well-being, and long-term student success—setting a new standard in school-based mental health services.
Referrals for our School-Based Counseling program are coordinated through school sites and can be made by students, parents, guardians or school personnel. Once a referral is made, our team will coordinate the intake process to obtain the information necessary to begin service.

Bellefaire JCB extends our care beyond our campus through a range of in-home family therapy programs designed to help children, youth, and families overcome challenges, build resilience, and strengthen relationships.
We believe children experience the greatest success when treatment takes place in their everyday environment, where parents, siblings, caregivers, and other important members of their support system can actively participate in the healing process. By meeting families where they are, our experienced clinicians provide personalized, evidence-based services that promote lasting change and help families thrive together.
Admissions Criteria for In-Home Family Therapy
- Potential client is under 18 years of age or transitional age youth between 18-21 who has had an onset of serious emotional and mental disorders at an age younger than 18.
- A parent/guardian is willing to participate in sessions weekly. Sessions are a minimum of two times a week for 2 hours each session.
- The client is not enrolled in any other mental health services aside from psychiatry and a group Therapeutic Behavior Services (TBS).
Intensive Home-Based Treatment (IHBT)
Intensive Home-Based Treatment services are provided to children, youth, and families who need a higher level of support to address emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges. The program is designed to help families stabilize and strengthen functioning within the home and community.
Families typically participate in the program for three to six months, receiving three to six hours of service per week. As progress is made, services are gradually stepped down to less intensive outpatient care in the community.
Intensive Home-Based Treatment uses a multisystem, wraparound approach that supports the whole family. Treatment focuses on strengthening relationships, improving communication, and developing practical strategies to address challenges. Interventions may include cognitive behavioral therapy, family preservation services, and coordinated care planning.
Bellefaire also provides IHBT to families of children with autism who may benefit from intensive, individualized support in the home and community. Bellefaire JCB is currently piloting a specialized Co-Occurring Mental Health and Autism Spectrum-Informed Intensive Home-Based Treatment (IHBT-ASI) Model for youth with significant behavioral health needs and co-occurring autism. The pilot is being conducted in partnership with Case Western Reserve University and The Ziggurat Group and is currently available in Cuyahoga, Lorain, and Summit counties.
The counselor works closely with the family and collaborates with other involved systems, including schools, courts, therapists, and other community providers, to ensure coordinated and effective care.
Services include:
- In home assessment and treatment
- Individual and family therapy
- Coordination with schools, courts, and providers
- Ongoing consultation and progress monitoring
- Transition and aftercare planning
The model is designed to provide intensive, individualized support to youth and families who may be at risk of out-of-home placement, are transitioning home following a placement, or need a high level of mental health and autism-informed intervention to safely remain at home.
“For the first time in 8+ years of trying to diagnose and obtain support for my daughter, we felt heard, understood, and supported. Linda has made a meaningful and immeasurable impact in our daughter and our family’s lives.” - IHBT Parent
Integrated Co-Occurring Treatment (ICT)
ICT is a comprehensive, evidence-informed approach embedded within an intensive home-based service model. It is designed to support youth with co-occurring substance use disorders and serious emotional disturbances, as well as the families who care for them.
ICT delivers a core set of coordinated services that address the complex and interrelated challenges these youth face. Therapists use targeted interventions aimed at the contextual factors—such as family dynamics, peer relationships, and community influences—that contribute to and are affected by the youth’s co-occurring conditions.
Family involvement is a critical component of ICT. The model requires active participation from both the youth and at least one parent or guardian to ensure meaningful and lasting outcomes. Through this collaborative, family-centered approach, ICT promotes stability, recovery, and resilience within the home and community environments.
The ICT model has proven successful in improving the following treatment outcomes for youth and families:
- Decreased substance use disorder symptoms
- Decreased mental health disorder symptoms
- Decreased juvenile justice charges and placements
- Decreased out-of-home placements
- Improved school functioning
- Improved family functioning
- Improved community functioning and involvement
