Job Description

Wingspan Care Group, administrative service organization for Bellefaire JCB, Applewood Centers and Monarch Life Works, has an opening for a Risk Management Clerk in their Shaker Heights location.   The Risk Management Clerk ensures that all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner. Discretion must be exercised in handling written and verbal material, which may be confidential, and of a personal nature. The Risk Management Clerk demonstrates initiative, creativity, sound judgment, and thoroughness. The Risk Management Clerk must be able to interact with, and have impact upon, a wide range of professionals with varied backgrounds.

  1. Assists General Counsel and Risk Manager as needed.

  2. Assists the Quality Improvement Records Manager with medical record data entry and management.

  3. Able to perform medical record data entry with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.

  4. Updates and maintains Risk Management's PaperSave system.

  5. Accurate typing of all client related material, correspondence, memos etc.

  6. Track and ensure licensing requirements, and policy and procedure manuals are up to date and accurate.

  7. Photocopy and distribute various materials.

  8. Telephone contact related to the position.

  9. Duties as assigned by the Supervisor in working as a team to ensure coverage of support staff responsibilities.

  10. May collect and record statistics prepare and tabulate statistical narrative reports.

  11. Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and on-going training.

  12. All required trainings, certifications and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards

  13. Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client’s treatment. All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.

  14. Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.

  15. Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of office experience is required. Sensitivity in relating to persons of varying backgrounds and demonstrate ability to work with diverse groups of people possessing various strengths, aptitudes and abilities. Ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using Agency computer systems and software as required to perform essential job functions.
Practical and creative problem solving skills. Ability to multitask and meet various deadlines for multiple people and projects. Ability to function independently, as a team leader, and as a team member.
